Practices run on weeknights, separate from Saturday games. Most teams practice twice a week for one hour, organized by division and coaching staff.

Only the Youngsters Division uses a lowered hoop. All others play on a regulation 10-foot basket. Parents may request for their child to play up a division, subject to staff review.

Membership doesn't include the game uniform or practice jersey. Here's a full example so there are no surprises.

Financial aid and scholarships

Evaluation & parent meeting
How we build even, competitive teams
Every player comes in for a short evaluation before the season. It's not a tryout, and everyone is placed on a team. Parents, join us for a quick meeting in the middle of the evening.

Common questions
Are the evaluations a tryout?
No, everyone is placed on a team. Evaluations are only used to keep the league balanced.
If my child missed evaluations, can they still join?
Yes. Add a description of your child's experience on the registration form and we will place them on the right team.
Can I request a practice day or time?
You can submit a request. We cannot guarantee it, but we try our best.
Can my child be placed on the same team as friends?
You can request it. We cannot guarantee it because we evaluate every player to keep teams balanced.
Is the second practice optional, or can my child attend one practice per week at a discount?
No, both practices are required.
If I miss a practice, can I make it up or get a refund?
No. Memberships are seasonal, not per practice. We do not offer makeup practices or refunds for missed practices.
What if my child makes the LA Select team at the upcoming tryouts?
If it happens before the Jr Hoops season starts, we offer a full refund and transfer your account to LA Select.
