Summer 2026 Recap
Ten weeks, twelve teams across three divisions, and a finals Saturday that came down to the last possession in every division. Summer 2026 sent the Lions, the Wolves, and the Raptors home with championship trophies, but the story of the season was how close the rest of the league pushed them. From the TK Youngsters learning their first plays to the All-Stars trading lead changes into the final minute, this was Jr Hoops at its busiest and its best.
What made Summer 2026 special
- Every championship game was decided by six points or fewer, and two of the three came down to a single possession.
- Both No. 2 seeds broke through on finals day. The Wolves beat the unbeaten Spartans 24-22, and the Raptors took down the Bears 31-25.
- The Eagles closed their season with a win, taking the Rising Stars consolation game 21-18 over the Wildcats in one of the tightest finishes of finals day. Well deserved.
- We welcomed four new coaches to Jr Hoops this season - Coach Mayk Arabetyan, Coach Jivan Avakian, Coach Hacob Mkhitarian, and Coach Edward Gevorgyan.
- Our 8th graders played their final season at Jr Hoops. Thank you for everything you gave this league, and all the best as you move on to high school.
- Coach Greg Tomasyan wrapped up his final season with Jr Hoops. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication, and all the best in what comes next.
- Coach Christina Koshkerian also coached her final season with us. Jr Hoops would not be where it is without you - thank you for everything.
