Jr Hoops (“Jr Hoops,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website jrhoops.org. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and being transparent about how we handle personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using our website, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

Jr Hoops is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth basketball league and camp based in Glendale, California (EIN 93-2903885). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at info@jrhoops.org.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that you or a parent/guardian voluntarily provide, or that is generated automatically when you visit the site.

• Information you provide through our forms. Depending on the form, this may include a parent/guardian name, a player’s name, email address, phone number, the division or program of interest, and the content of your message or request. Our financial-aid form also asks you to describe your household’s need.
• Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and name, if provided).
• Registration information. Season and camp registration is completed on our third-party registration platform, TeamSnap. Information you enter there (which may include a child’s name, date of birth, grade or school, parent/guardian contact details, and payment information) is collected and processed by TeamSnap under its own privacy policy, and shared back with us to administer the program.
• Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, and the pages you view. This is used for security and to keep the site running reliably.

3. Cookies and Tracking

We aim to keep the site fast and privacy-respecting, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit we participate in the Google Ad Grants program, which gives us free Google Search advertising to reach families looking for youth basketball. The program requires us to measure whether those ads actually help, so we use Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag on this site. These set cookies and collect standard web-measurement data: the pages you view, how you reached us (including whether you arrived from one of our ads), your approximate location from your IP address, and your device and browser type.

We use this only in aggregate, to see which pages and ads are working. In particular, we record when a visitor starts a registration, submits one of our forms, or taps our phone number. We do not upload the contents of our forms to Google, and we do not use these tools to build advertising profiles or to serve retargeting ads to you.

You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google’s browser opt-out add-on, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Because browsers handle it inconsistently, we do not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals at this time.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and process form and registration requests.
• Administer the league, camps, financial aid, and related activities.
• Send newsletters and announcements to people who opt in.
• Maintain the security and functionality of our website.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only as needed to operate our programs, and never sell it. We may share it with:

• Service providers that operate on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of the information, including Google (form submissions are stored in Google Sheets/Workspace; site measurement through Google Analytics and Google Ads, as described in Section 3), GetResponse (our newsletter email provider), TeamSnap (registration), and Cloudflare (website hosting).
• When required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, court order, or legal process, or to protect the safety of participants.

Financial-aid requests are treated as confidential and are reviewed only by our Board of Directors.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our programs serve children, but our website and forms are directed to and intended to be used by parents and legal guardians, who provide any information about a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent’s or guardian’s involvement, contact us at info@jrhoops.org and we will delete it. A parent or guardian may review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s information at any time.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

• Access or correct the personal information we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your information, subject to records we must keep for legal, accounting, or safety reasons.
• Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.

California residents may also request information about the categories of personal information we have shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes; as described above, we do not share personal information for others’ direct marketing. 8. Data Retention and Security

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, and we take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect it against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Our site links to third-party services (for example, TeamSnap, YouTube, Instagram, and our sponsors). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
