About Jr Hoops

Jr Hoops is a nonprofit youth basketball league dedicated to giving beginner-to-intermediate players, ages 6 to 14, a supportive and inclusive environment to learn and enjoy the sport. Our mission is to promote physical activity, teamwork, and personal development through basketball. We're looking for passionate, dedicated coaches to join our team and make a positive impact on young athletes in our community.

Position overview

As a Youth Basketball Coach at Jr Hoops, you'll inspire and guide players in developing their basketball skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a love for the game. We're seeking enthusiastic, experienced coaches who are passionate about working with young athletes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct engaging, skill-focused basketball practices and training sessions.
• Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their technique and understanding of the game.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff on practice plans, game strategies, and player development goals.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and Jr Hoops staff for a smooth, enjoyable experience.
• Attend league practices, games, and events as required.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience, preferably working with youth basketball players.
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young athletes.
• A passion for mentoring and inspiring players both on and off the court.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• A background check and relevant certifications may be required.

Compensation

Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young athletes' lives within a collaborative, supportive team environment.
